Project 3
Sustainable Packaging
I chose to redesign the packaging for the makeup brand, Rituel de Fille, in order to make it more sustainable and environmental friendly. I had to conceptualize a brand new way to package the company's makeup, and create a mockup, using hard cardstock instead of plastic. Die cut lines, package mockup, package banner where all developed using both Adobe Illustrate and Procreate.
The target audience is for young adults who love to express themselves with makeup in a more witch-like, gothic style. I had creative freedom over the new designed package as long as it was environmental friendly, would reduce plastic waste, and would represent the style of makeup the company sold. I took inspiration from dark fantasy and gothic style, using a coffin to display the product to really sell that unique and ritualistic air.
I did research of the makeup company, concept sketching of potential packaging designs, research of coffin shaped packing, a paper prototype to make sure the product would work well, and the die cut lines in Adobe Illustrate. I then created a more solid mockup, presented it, made some adjustments according to feedback, and created a banner for the new packaging.
The project came together rather quickly since I had a strong base with the paper prototype, and created easy assets and illustrations in Procreate. Small modifications of the design where made, I reduced the pattern's opacity so the text would be more readable, aligned the centered illustration to a more precise angle, and used recyclable stickers to keep both sides of the coffin sealed.

The package is unique, magical, and gothic.
It looks like it belongs with the company's branding style, which the client was really content with. It really drove the 'nail in the coffin' with it's witch like style.
