Project 1

Non-Profit Campaign

I chose to conceptualize a video game speed-running tournament that would be associated with the non-profit organization, The War Amps, in order to gain attraction to it's cause. This fictional event would encourage local Ottawa citizens to donate and participate in the tournament in order to raise money for the non-profit organization. I was tasked to create social media posts, ready to print tabloid posters, and web advertisements. I used Adobe Illustrate and Procreate for this project.

Process

I started with doing research and quick sketches of the overall design and energy I wanted to bring for the fictional charity event. The 3 characters immediately came to idea to act as mascots in order to design a fun and inviting aesthetic. Bright and colorful tones where chosen to bring excitement and contrasts to the characters in order to make them really pop out, while simplistic and sharp lines resembles a low graphic indie style. The fonts used follows the straight lines of the layout and reinforces the theme.

Results

The complete design is energetic, fun and vibrant. The characters feel inviting to any video game fans, and catches the eyes with it's bright and playful colors.
